Tyler left for Armenia on Wednesday.
I actually realized that he was leaving Tuesday
night, so I called him. For whatever reason, he didn't answer. Probably
kicking with his lady friends. He called back Wednesday on his way to the
airport. It was good to talk to him for twenty minutes or so. He won't be back
in time for the wedding but such is life, right? He'll be over there six
to seven months, whichever he chooses. I'm thinking the later.
That night, I stayed up late with the roommates
watching Caddyshack. In all honesty, it was only an OK movie; it
had some funny parts to it. Anyways, I got to bed late. I planned on sleeping
in, but I was rudely awaken at 7:30 in the morning by a phone call. (Editor's
Note: And we say I'm the only one with a flair for the dramatic. Honestly...)
Usually when my phone rings early in the morning, it's either A) telemarketers
or B) someone telling me I can get a free security system put in just
by putting up a sign in my window. I grudgingly rolled over and picked up
my phone off the floor where it had somehow ended up in the night. Half-awake, I
answered just to realize it was Tyler on the phone! He said that he needed a
favor. He had tried to call everyone else in the family, but they'd failed to
pick up the phone. He needed the phone number of one of his lady friends.
Can you believe that kid? He called me from
half-way around the world just for a girl's number. Turns out, he was in
Austria waiting for his flight to Armenia. He had a 13 hour lay-over there. Who
knew lay-overs could be that long? So we talked for a few more minutes about
his flight and what not. We hung up so he could have a few minutes left to
call his lady friend once I got her number. Whether or not he called her, I
have no idea, but I would assume so. It was good to talk to him one last time
before our communication is limited to email.
I'm already counting down the days til he gets
home and comes back out west.
